Christian Life and Service Seminars (C.L.A.S.S.) 301
C.L.A.S.S. 301 is designed to match members with the ministry opportunities available in and through St. Timothy’s. The course will help people discover their S.H.A.P.E. (Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, Experiences) for ministry and put their individual gifts to work in service of the Lord.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)
Four different AA groups meet at St. Timothy's at the Carter Avenue Facility. They are open to all who wish to gain and maintain sobriety. Through the successful work of AA, these groups minister to a broad cross-section of the community. Meeting Times: MON & FRI at NOON, MON (Women Only) at 7 pm, and SAT EVENINGS AT 8:15 pm

Convalescent Home Ministry
This is an outreach program composed of various Christian organizations serving nursing /rehabilitation homes in Christ's name. We meet three times at month (the 1st, 2nd and 4th Thursday's) at two different locations. The 1st Thursday we meet in the morning from 10:30 to 11:30. The 2nd and 4th Thursday's we meet in the afternoon from 1:45 to 2:45. We begin with a Bible Study and then sing familiar hymns. We serve refreshments and cookies or candy to the residents and have fellowship with them as much as possible. All volunteers are trained before serving.

Employment Bridge
St. Timothy's has formed an employment support group for members & non-members who are seeking work or currently "under-employed."  This group is called "The Employment Bridge." Click here for more information and to sign up.

FISH
St. Timothy's participates in the community-operated FISH program. FISH is an inter-denominational Christian agency that provides food and other emergency assistance to people in crisis situations. Many people are needed to work as coordinators, grocery baggers, and to answer the telephone. FISH Collection Sunday is the third Sunday of the month. Look for collection bins in the church entryway & Fellowship Hall.

Hands on Wheels
Church members who need a car ride to church-related activities may be helped through this ministry. Some members are served on a regular basis, e.g., every Sunday; some are served for occasional events. A list of volunteers is maintained and rides are coordinated with a volunteer living closest to the person needing a ride.

Helping Hands
This committee provides temporary assistance to families within the church who are undergoing stressful times; i.e., a death or serious illness. They contact the family to offer support, bring in food, and/or otherwise help as needed. Also, coordinates church member memorial receptions held at the church.

Quilters and Cut Ups
This group meets the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 9:30 am to make quilts, work on various projects, and to enjoy Christian fellowship. Special events are held during the year, some in conjunction with the Super Seniors group. Both men and women are welcome to participate.

Recovery
Recovery is a community self-help mental health organization, meeting every Monday, 7:30 to 9:30 pm in the church library. Men and women from all walks of life attend these meetings, because they share a common problem; nervous symptoms and fears. Participants receive support and encouragement, and learn how to apply effective methods to the difficulties they experience.

San Jose Family Shelter
St. Timothy's participates in San Jose Family Shelter by providing and running an activity for the children once and month.
San Jose Family Shelter is the only shelter in Santa Clara County that exclusively serves single and two-parent families. The Shelter provides up to 35 families with a private room and support services for up to 90 days, in a clean and safe environment. The Shelter addresses and provides basic needs of each family so that time and energy are directed to finding employment and permanent housing. Intensive case management assists clients in developing a detailed, step-by-step plan to become self-sufficient. Case Managers provide supportive counseling, referrals for housing, employment services, budgeting services, health care services, workshops, parenting classes, and ESL education.

Scouting
Several Scouting groups meet regularly at St. Timothy's. Contact the office for more information.

Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers undergo 50 hours of training to provide distinctively Christian care for those who are going through difficult life crises. People who may be helped by Stephen Ministers are those who are grieving the death of a loved one, living with a debilitating or terminal illness, caring for someone who is ill, going through or recovering from divorce, experiencing job loss, transitioniong into retirement, or adjusting to a new family environment. Stephen Ministers are not counselors or pastors, but are trained lay people who confidentially care for those experiencing such life challenges. For more information about Stephen Ministry, click here.

Visitation Team
The visitation team is made up of lay people who visit the elderly and others once or twice a month. They make their visits in pairs. Every three months or so they meet together to support one another and share ideas for making their visits better. For more information call Pastor Judy (264-3858), Mickey Miller (371-5789) or Darlene Read (266-3332)
